Terms of Use

These conditions apply whenever you browse, read, or use a search feature on the website. Continued use means you accept them. If you disagree, do not continue using the site.

NO FCRA USE. This is a privately operated website with no government affiliation. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provide a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to identify official criminal-record resources for Martin County, Texas. It is neither a private investigation company nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site operates independently from every government body. It does not store official criminal files, perform official checks, retrieve records, or submit forms for visitors.

It identifies Martin County custodians, such as the sheriff and combination clerk, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use site content for a hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decision
  • Harass, stalk, intimidate, or threaten another person
  • Violate a federal, Texas, or local law
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Send bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools against the pages
  • Disrupt service or prevent others from using the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool must not be used to threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 governs the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and other criminal and civil laws may apply to misuse. Registry data supports lawful safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Site data and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

For a regulated purpose, use an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider and follow all applicable law. The Texas Department of Public Safety is the official state criminal-history repository but does not turn this website into an approved screening service.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is general information, not legal advice. Only a licensed Texas attorney can advise how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to specific facts.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Partner search results will be complete or correct
  • Published information will always be current, complete, or accurate
  • The website will operate without interruption
  • Every page will be free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses

Charges, dispositions, expunctions, and disclosure limits can change a criminal record. Gaps or stale details may remain, and no website statement is an official statement by a sheriff, court, or agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

A link can lead to an agency, court, legal resource, or outside search provider that we do not control. We are not responsible for a destination's content, data practices, fees, uptime, or terms. Review its rules before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Martin County Criminal History or its content partners own the site's text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for harm arising from use of the website, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to website use must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions at any time. A revision takes effect when posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be sent through the Contact page.
